The first DCL-Disney Cruise Line's ship to sail back to Port Canaveral (Orlando) Florida is now the first to return to Walt Disney Company's private island in The Bahamas - Castaway Cay.
A few days after completing the Transatlantic repositioning crossing, the ship Disney Wonder anchored on November 29 at Castaway Cay. The passenger-free vessel completed the trip safely and is now moored in place at the private island.
It has been speculated that Disney's Castaway Cay will be the first port that the company is able to return to due to the CDC's restrictions - including the need for intense levels of emergency cooperation with call ports and the restriction on cruises longer than 7 days.
The reason for Disney Wonder's visit is still unknown and could be sea trials and assessment of the island.
While the Disney ship made the short cruise from Port Canaveral, the sistership Disney Dream is in the midst of her Transatlantic crossing and is scheduled to arrive in Florida on December 10.
