The premium Asian brand Dream Cruises (GHK-owned) announced that its World Dream ship had received official OIC SMIIC Standards Halal certification from the UNWHD-United World Halal Development and Vegetarian certification from the GVCS-Global Vegetarian Certification Services, the first cruise ship in the Asia Pacific to bear both marks of distinction.
Muslim passengers will be able to enjoy peace of mind when sailing onboard World Dream’s 2- and 3-night “Merry Super Seacation” high seas voyages departing out of Singapore for the ultimate “stay-cation” adventure.
During the holiday season, vacationers can also enjoy Singapore’s live fireworks with laser show celebration for Christmas and New Year 2020.
The 2012-established United World Halal Development focuses on the overall development of the halal industry and markets. Global Vegetarian Certification Services is an independent body evaluating and confirming the quality and safety of components complying with international vegetarian standards, policies, and procedures.
According to Mr. Michael Goh, President, Dream Cruises, as an Asian homegrown brand, it gave them "great pleasure to provide a holistic Halal-friendly cruise experience" for their guests as part of Dream Cruises’ offerings to cater to the Asian population.
"Following on previous certifications for Genting Dream in Singapore and World Dream in Hong Kong, this new certification encompasses not only cuisine but the overall elevated Halal lifestyle onboard our ship.
“Not only have our award-winning Dream Cruises chefs created a wide array of tempting Halal dishes, they will be available upon request in our selected F&B restaurants as well as through Room Service for extra convenience.”
The Lido, one of the most popular restaurants onboard World Dream serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a Snack Corner, now boasts a dedicated Halal Corner for Muslim passengers. In addition to The Lido, F&B restaurants onboard, along with Room Service, offer Halal options in their menus.
Complementing the rich selection of Halal cuisine offered, the World Dream ship will further cater to Muslim passengers with various lifestyle offerings.
