MSC Cruises has extended the pause in passenger shipping operations on one of its Mediterranean-deployed ships which was scheduled to resume voyages after the December holidays.
The company announced the extension to MSC Magnifica's pause due to the additional lockdown measures that Greece's government recently put in place to manage the pandemic. As part of these measures, cruise vessels are only able to make technical calls in Greek ports and not to disembark tourists or crew.
Because of the uncertainty at this stage as to whether the ports will fully re-open on January 7, 2021, or if the measures will be extended further, MSC Cruises has taken the decision to postpone the resumption of sailings for Magnifica until February 14.
MSC ships operate under the protection of the line’s comprehensive health and safety protocol.
