New "Adventures by Disney" Expedition Cruises provide families with the opportunity to sail to some of the world's most popular travel destinations.
Starting with cruises to Antarctica (2021-Q4) and Galapagos Islands (2022), passengers will embark on adventures across remote landscapes while on a leisurely sailing with family-focused activities.
Bookings open to the public on January 22. Scheduled for 2021 and 2022, two 12-day "Antarctica and Patagonia Expedition Cruises" are offered from Ponant. Following an overnight in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the itinerary starts at Argentine Patagonia's southernmost tip, where is visited the resort town Ushuaia with included train tour to Tierra del Fuego National Park. After navigating through Drake Passage, the voyage continues in the Antarctic Peninsula. Optional is the Buenos Aires Escape - a 4-day guided group tour of Argentina’s capital city.
Adventures by Disney's "Galapagos Islands Expedition Cruise" targets families with kids and offers island-hop cruising with five 9-day itineraries scheduled for the Galapagos Legend ship.
Three routes are scheduled for the 2022 Adventures by Disney Galapagos Islands Expedition Cruise:
- February 9, the north & south Galapagos itinerary includes trips to the islands of San Cristobal, Floreana, Espanola, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Genovesa.
- March 6, July 10, and August 7, the south & east Galapagos itinerary includes trips to the islands of South Plaza, San Cristobal, North Seymour, Santa Cruz, Espanola, Floreana.
- December 18, the north & west Galapagos itinerary includes trips to the islands of Genovesa, Baltra, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Santiago, Mosquera, Rabida, Fernandina, Isabela.
On all expedition cruises, families can relax and play together on an intimate expedition cruise ship as a team of Adventure Guides lead programming for Junior Adventurers and adults. Special presentations by naturalists further immerse travellers in the stories of the ecosystems around. On select sailings, Disney photography and animal experts host conversations and workshops about wildlife and travel photography.
Adventures by Disney’s river cruises return to Europe with itineraries along the Rhine, Danube, and Seine Rivers. New for 2022, National Geographic Photography Sailings along Seine River offer photo-driven trips with National Geographic photographers. Sailing with AmaWaterways, these all-inclusive cruises are filled with active experiences in enchanting European locales.
