Seatrade Cruise Global 2021 will be postponed.
Alternative options are being weighed for a live event in Miami Florida in early autumn.
A series of virtual events are scheduled for 2021-H1.
Group Director Mary Bond said Seatrade Cruise had made those decisions after careful consideration, discussions with the cruise community, as well as in consultation with CLIA and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association.
In an announcement, Bond said:
"We are very aware from these conversations that cruise lines are hard at work advocating and preparing for the safe and gradual resumption of cruise operations around the world — with many successful sailings that have already occurred in Europe and other markets with protocols working as intended. We also recognize the desire to safely come together at a live event, and the advanced logistical and budgetary planning that would be required of our exhibitors and attendees.
"Please be assured that Seatrade Cruise Global will be hosted under the All Secure standards, a detailed protocol of health and safety measures developed collaboratively with industry associations, event organizers and venues, along with input from health, government and local authorities, in order to provide the highest levels of hygiene and safety for our visitors. Virtual attendance options will also be provided should that be a preferred way to access the conference program."
Seatrade Europe (September 8-10, 2021, in Hamburg Germany) will continue, allowing the cruise community opportunity to come together in either location convenient, or at both events.
