MSC Cruises on Monday, February 1, took delivery of MSC Virtuosa, the latest highly-innovative ship to join the fleet.
A small flag ceremony was held at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire France between MSC and the shipyard where the newbuild received her official flag and blessings for good fortune.
The official ceremony was attended by the executive chairman of the company, Pierfrancesco Vago, his wife Alexa Aponte-Vago, their children, and representatives from MSC's newbuilds team as well as executives and workers from the shipyard.
MSC's new flagship Virtuosa is scheduled to enter service on April 16 (inaugural cruise date), with 4 Mediterranean voyages (3-, 4- and 10-night itineraries) before the repositioning to homeport Kiel Germany, where is due to start Northern Europe roundtrips from May 8.
During winter 2021-2022, MS Virtuosa will be repositioned (via Suez Canal) to the Red Sea region for 7-day roundtrips from homeports Dubai UAE and Doha Qatar.
