Tradewind Voyages UK made a number of itinerary changes to the 2021 schedule of its Golden Horizon ship in order to comply with the travel restrictions of the government.
The brand's inauguration/ship's maiden voyage is now an "Eastern Coastal Contrasts" roundtrip from Harwich England (July 1). All the following in July sailings will be in UK waters.
Passengers booked on affected cruises are being contacted directly or through their travel agent and offered either a full refund on any money paid or the opportunity to switch to an alternative trip. All guests are offered a 10% discount on future sailings.
Following her inaugural cruise, Golden Horizon is due to embark on a "Scotland East to West" voyage from Leith -Edinburgh (July 6), followed by "West Coast Gems of Scotland" from Greenock-Glasgow (July 15), "Maritime Cities of the North West" from Greenock (July 21) and "Rounding the South West" from Liverpool (July 25).
From August 4, voyages from the UK remain as previously scheduled, commencing with "English South Coast and Islands" out of Harwich and onwards to Denmark and Norway's Fjords. Once Golden Horizon crosses the Mediterranean there will be 3 Adriatic Voyages (visiting Venice Italy and Split Croatia/where the vessel was constructed) named "Owners Collection".
There are also a number of changes to the Maritime Silk Route sailings which will be replaced by a series of collections like All Inclusive Dubai, comprising of 2 cruises in the Arabian Gulf, and the Indonesian Islands Collection which includes ‘A passage to Singapore’, sailing from Dubai to Singapore over 14 nights.
Tradewind Voyages sales and marketing director Jeremy McKenna said:
“It is of course disappointing to have to change our itineraries due to the restrictions imposed to combat the global pandemic, but I am sure that the new voyages and destinations will be of great interest to our guests and travel agent partners. All the team at Tradewind Voyages are very excited to be taking delivery of the Golden Horizon in Portsmouth on 22nd June before she starts her global journey.”
