Just a week after NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line announced the suspension of sailings across the fleet through June 30, the company cancels additional cruises on 3 ships through October-November 2021.
On March 23, NCL officially announced the cancellations of 3 ship deployments:
- Norwegian Encore (Alaska from Seattle) embarkation dates before October 28, 2021
- Norwegian Jewel (Alaska from Vancouver BC-Seward AK) embarkation dates before October 6, 2021
- Norwegian Jade (Europe-Baltic-Mediterranean) embarkation dates before November 4, 2021
NCL's summer 2021 programs of Norwegian Sun (Alaska from Seattle) and Norwegian Bliss (Alaska from Seattle) were also recently canceled.
The announcement does not provide details where those ships would be redeployed or what the cruise company plans to do with them, which prompted speculations that they would probably be used for Caribbean roundtrips which would homeport from USA ports, just like the plans announced by RCI-Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises.
