Port Kiel Germany announced its plans to resume cruise operations in May.
According to the statement, port authorities are prepared for the upcoming cruise season after strict health and safety protocols that have proven to be effective during the 2020 summer season.
Kiel Seaport said they expected this year's cruise season to start in May at the latest, and were well prepared.
"Proven hygiene concepts that have been in use since summer 2020, tests of passengers and crew, reduced ship capacity and implementation of cruises in a so-called bubble will enable safe travel at sea."
Cruises for German tourists are currently only offered from the Canary Islands but cruise operators also hope for an early restart in Northern Europe. The sign of progress is the progress of vaccination in Germany and in the countries of the Baltic Sea region.
