As it prepares for the return to service beginning July 25, NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line announced the premiere of its “EMBARK – The Series,” a docuseries that is chronicling the comeback of the brand.
The first of 5 episodes will premiere on April 15 at 8 p.m. ET on the NCL website.
EMBARK – The Series is part of Norwegian’s ‘EMBARK with NCL’ editorial content platform delivering rich content via:
EMBARK – The Series: Debuting with its first episode, “Great Cruise Comeback,” the docuseries chronicles the relaunch of the NCL 17-ship fleet. The episode is focused on the ongoing measures for a safe and healthy return to sailing, including unscripted conversations with executive leaders like NCLH-Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ President and CEO Frank Del Rio and President & CEO of NCL Harry Sommer.
The first episode provides a look at the brand’s preparations for its return to operation, including technology designed to enhance embarkation, how the shipboard crew members and entertainers have been managing over the last year, as well as how the temporary pause has affected businesses and valued partners, such as Miami-based distillery Wynwood Brewing Company.
EMBARK Spotlights: Following the virtual performances “Choir of Man: Live from London” and “NCL: Live from Broadway”, which aired in late 2020 and reached ~900,000 viewers, EMBARK Spotlights focus on the offerings and experiences available across the Norwegian fleet.
EMBARK Stories: Depicting vignette-style and authentic reflections from the brand's faces and voices, including executives, global crew, partners, and passengers, EMBARK Stories bring the greatest strength of the NCL brand – its people – right to viewers.
NCL engaged the Emmy Award-winning production team at VIVA Creative in order to produce the platform content, adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols in place at the time of filming to capture conversations and behind-the-scenes footage.
