Last week, the UK government issued new advice stating that no more than 1000 cruise ship passengers would be allowed to board a voyage between May 17-June 21, 2021.
In advice published on April 23, the UK's Department for Transport announced that ex-UK cruises in early summer 2021 would “be able to operate with up to 1000 people or 50 % capacity, whichever is lower”.
The UK government also made it clear that groups of 6+ people, or 2 households, would not be allowed to mix indoors.
On May 20, MSC Cruises is scheduled to start voyages from homeport Southampton England.
By June 21, 2021, it is hoped the restrictions will not be in place.
The announcement reiterated the current UK ban on international holidays.
