The RCG-Royal Caribbean-owned Celebrity Cruises restarted sailings in the USA but announced more cancellations. Two liners scheduled to sail in 2021 had select voyages canceled.
2 sailings aboard Celebrity Silhouette to Europe departing on September 4 and September 18, 2021, are canceled. The company said it had done that because of uncertainty in many parts of Europe, so "out of an abundance of caution", the decision had been made to cancel them.
In addition, Celebrity canceled 7x Celebrity Eclipse voyages from Australia departing October 18-December 21, 2021. Just like RCI-Royal Caribbean's decision to cancel, uncertainty related to when Australia will allow cruises again forced the decision.
Passengers on the canceled voyages have a choice of 125% FCC (Future Cruise Credit) or a 100% refund.
For the Silhouette cruises, Celebrity is also offering a Lift & Shift option, allowing a passenger to reschedule the trip for next year within 4 weeks of the original departure.
From now through July 14, 2021, guests on a canceled voyage may Lift & Shift their reservation to a 2022 sailing on Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Reflection, Celebrity Silhouette, to any one of various European destinations.
Similarly, those booked on a Celebrity Eclipse voyage can Lift & Shift the reservation for next year on a date within 4 weeks of the originally scheduled departure.
