Malaga Spain was designated a homeport by Marella Cruises UK, adding two new itineraries from October.
The UK cruise line intends to make 4 stopovers departing from the port on a weekly basis from October 3 through 24, 2021.
Marella Explorer 2, which was officially christened in Port Malaga in 2019, is to combine 2 itineraries that will alternate (1 each week) with the start / end of the trip in the capital.
One of the itineraries is the Continental Coasts, which will call at other ports on the Mediterranean coast, including Alicante, Almeria, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca. The other is the Spirit of Iberia itinerary that is expected to visit the ports of Valencia, Ibiza, Cadiz, Cartagena, Gibraltar.
According to Chris Hackney (TUI UK & Ireland's Cruise Director), “these itineraries include the most beautiful landscapes of the Mediterranean, with Spain being a very popular destination for our clients. We are very excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to visit this country ”.
Marella Explorer 2 has max passenger capacity 1814 (plus 780 crew-staff).
Marella (part of TUI Group, which also owns TUI Cruises) is actively committed to Malaga: 2 of its boats were baptized at Cruise Terminal A. In 2019 they visited the port 10 times, with a total movement of 16,000 tourists.
