The Tenerife Tourism Corporation was confirmed as a new associate partner of CLIA UK & Ireland.
The long-term agreement is expected to enhance the brand awareness of Tenerife across the region, bringing them into the Association’s wider community of cruise companies, travel agents, associate partners.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands) is visited by several major cruise shipping companies every year, with the corporation seeking to highlight the host of activities and attractions visitors can experience during a visit to the island.
Tenerife will be represented at a number of CLIA's (Cruise Lines International Association) travel trade events, and gaining brand exposure on the cruise industry body’s website as well as inclusion in the yearbook.
The membership forms part of the new marketing strategy and positioning of the island. It recently obtained Biosphere certification from the RTI (Responsible Tourism Institute), which recognizes Santa Cruz de Tenerife as a sustainable international destination.
CLIA UK & Ireland managing director, Andy Harmer, said:
