RCI-Royal Caribbean's ship Serenade of the Seas started the Alaskan cruise season as the first large-sized liner in Alaska since September 2019.
The 7-night roundtrip from Seattle WA (on July 19) marked a celebratory moment for the industry, the state's economy, and local communities that were severely impacted by the absence of cruise ships due to the Coronavirus crisis.
Serenade OTS is now sailing with 97% fully vaccinated passengers and crew. The Alaska Glacier itinerary visits Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm Fjord (Endicott Arm with Dawes Glacier).
Serenade will soon be joined by the fleetmate Ovation of the Seas - starting from Seattle on August 13.
Serenade OTS became the first large cruise ship to resume services in Alaska as well as the RCI's second to restart voyages in the USA - after Freedom of the Seas departed PortMiami Florida on July 2nd.
