HAL-Holland America Line took delivery of its newest ship ms Rotterdam on Friday, July 30, officially making her the 11th vessel in the fleet.
An official handover ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Italy on the evening of July 29.
The ceremony was attended by Captain Werner Timmers, the ship’s master, and Holland America Group’s vice president of newbuilding services, Cyril Tatar. Giuseppe Bono, CEO, Fincantieri, and a number of other executives also attended.
Upon delivery, ms Rotterdam will remain in non-passenger operations until her transatlantic crossing on October 20, 2021, from Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades, Florida), where she will then commence her maiden season in the Caribbean.
The Maiden Voyage of the newbuild is scheduled for November 3, 2021 ( a 4-day itinerary to Half Moon Cay Bahamas and Key West Florida).
Naming details haven't been finalized and will be revealed at a later date.
