DCL-Disney Cruise Line is taking classic storytelling into a new realm of immersive family fun onboard its newest and largest ship MS Disney Wish with the debut of a first-of-its-kind interactive experience "Disney Uncharted Adventure" that will lead passengers on "a journey from bow to stern and beyond the stars."
Combining technology and imagination with the magic of a wishing star, the Uncharted Adventure is taking passengers on a multidimensional journey into the worlds of iconic Pixar and Disney characters. Specially designed for families to play together, the journey is a brand-new way to explore the enchantment of a Disney ship.
Using the Play Disney Parks app with some help from the guides, Capt. Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, passengers sailing on Disney Wish are able to transform their mobile devices into a spyglass, a tool that allows them to magically set sail for the worlds of Nemo, Moana, Tiana, Peter Pan, and more. The spyglass is the key to solving puzzles, unlocking adventures, and conquering quests.
The adventure will start before passengers even set sail. Leading up to a voyage on Disney Wish, the app reveals a special greeting from Capt. Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse, who will help vacationers prepare for their journey ahead by highlighting the role of the night sky in seafaring.
Once onboard, passengers will use their spyglasses to unveil never-before-seen views of the stars, where enchanted constellations take shape as icons from Pixar and Disney stories. When the wishing star bursts and shatters, families can watch as its pieces are scattered, each landing in a far-off realm. Capt. Minnie needs guests to help navigate the liner to these uncharted worlds to find the missing pieces.
Passengers can choose where to sail next, charting a course towards adventurous locales like Motunui Island (from the Moana movie), Neverland (Peter Pan movie), New Orleans (The Princess and the Frog movie), Sydney NSW (Finding Nemo movie), and more. Each passenger will take them on an expansive voyage throughout Disney's Wish as they are prompted to seek signs, props, and artwork that transform to bring the characters and settings of the story worlds to life.
The 15-deck, 1238-cabin Disney Wish has her Maiden Voyage currently scheduled to depart from homeport Port Canaveral-Orlando Florida on June 9, 2022. The inaugural Caribbean season is based on 3- and 4-night roundtrips to The Bahamas visiting Castaway Cay (DCL's private island) and Nassau.
