Pioneering New Zealand-based small-ship cruise company Heritage Expeditions (under-charter ship operator) released its 2022-2023 expedition season, including a couple of new voyages aboard the world-renowned Polar exploration ship MS Heritage Adventurer (fka "RCGS Resolute" and "MS Hanseatic").
The latest addition to the family-owned and operated fleet, Heritage Adventurer will make her maiden cruise on the line’s first expedition of the season – a new journey circumnavigating the northernmost island and last frontier of Japan, Hokkaido.
Heritage Expeditions' itinerary program (for "Heritage Adventurer") is currently planned to start in May 2022 with voyages in Russia's Far East and Arctic regions (including Wrangel Island, Siberian Coast, Chukotka). Then the boat will be deployed in the South Pacific Ocean for itineraries visiting ports in New Zealand, NZ's Subantarctic archipelagos (Antipodes Islands, Auckland Islands, Bounty Islands, Snares Islands, Campbell Island), also Macquarie Island Tasmania and mainland-Antarctica (Ross Sea navigation). A new 17-day itinerary (themed "Discover the Secrets of Melanesia") visits Indonesia Raja Ampat Archipelago), Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu.
Continuing south down to Australia’s Subantarctic Islands and New Zealand, Heritage Adventurer will sail Heritage Expeditions' Galapagos of the Southern Ocean, Birding Down Under, Beyond Fiordland: New Zealand’s Wildest Islands and Forgotten Islands of the South Pacific cruises before putting her polar credentials to the test on bucket list expedition into Antarctica, the Ross Sea, on In the Wake of Scott & Shackleton.
