The UK-based tour agency/brand Riviera Travel (fleet, Scylla's main riverboat charterer) announced that itineraries in additional European destinations were restarting after the successful restart of the company's operations in Portugal (Douro River) in August 2021.
Riviera’s river cruises in France (on Seine and Rhone) and an additional itinerary in Germany (on Main River and Main-Danube Canal) are underway. All passengers boarding Riviera riverboats have must be fully COVID-or present a negative test before travel.
The itineraries that restarted and are running through November 22 include "The Douro, Porto & Salamanca", "The Seine, Paris & Normandy", "Burgundy, the River Rhone & Provence", and "Medieval Germany".
Riviera's tourists will benefit from flexible customer care policies and best-in-class health & safety practices.
Flexible customer care policies feature COVID cancellation and curtailment protection, as well as Riviera’s happiness guarantee. If a passenger is not able to sail specifically due to COVID, the booking can be transferred to another departure date for free with 24 hours’ notice. If a passenger has to cut their vacation short specifically due to COVID and a travel insurer does not cover it, Riviera provides compensation for the missed portion of the voyage. And if a passenger is not happy by the second day of their voyage, the company will assist in bringing them home with a full refund.
Riviera promises never to add hidden surcharges or fees. The line does not automatically include drinks or gratuities, so the choice is up to passengers.
