The U.S. headquartered small ship cruise line Windstar announces the debut of its all-suite Star Plus Class yacht Star Legend, sailing from Lisbon, Portugal on a 10-day voyage to Barcelona, Spain, calling at ports including Portimao, Cadiz (overnight), Gibraltar UK, Malaga (overnight), Cartagena, Palma de Mallorca.
The line’s 3 all-suite Star Plus Class ships (Star Breeze, Star Legend, Star Pride) have been undergoing renovations, with Star Breeze as the first to launch in June 2021 showcasing new suites and expanded outdoor/indoor public spaces.
Star Legend is the 2nd of the 3 yachts to emerge from Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard after the stretch & transformation project. The vessels are also more environmentally friendly with efficient generators, engines, and advanced wastewater treatment systems.
All 3 yachts increased in maximum capacity from 212 to 312 passengers and provide more of what Windstar’s guests want, like additional dining experiences (an outdoor barbecue with grilling guru Steven Raichlen and a Spanish small plates restaurant from Anthony Sasso), a true spa & fitness center, a stylish infinity pool, more outdoor deck areas.
These 3 all-suite yachts, together with Windstar’s 3 classic sailing yachts, are small enough to continue to visit the world's special small ports and waterways. 5 of the line’s 6 yachts are now back operation requiring vaccines of all guests and crew amongst a host of health & safety precautions such as testing, masks, social distancing, and high-tech air filtration.
