TUI-owned Marella UK is expected to add a 5th ship to its fleet in 2023.
The new Marella Voyager will be converted from the existing Century-class ship Mein Schiff Herz, originally built for Celebrity Cruises and a sistership to Marella Explorer.
The cruise line will achieve its goal of sailing from the USA in 2023.
The boat will be renamed "Marella Voyager" and is scheduled to start operations from Palma de Mallorca (Majorca Island, Balearic Spain) on June 3, 2023 (inaugural cruise for Marella UK). There will be two new venues: a Mexican diner and Secret Speakeasy Bar, in addition to the TUI's favorites like Nonna's, Snack Shack, Surf & Turf (steakhouse).
With 952 staterooms, the ship will be able to accommodate 1904 passengers, fewer than the 1912 guests on Mein Schiff Herz.
The new addition to the fleet of Marella was built back in 1997 as Mercury, then Celebrity Mercury, prior to being transferred to TUI Cruises as Mein Schiff 2. The ship was renamed Mein Schiff Herz in 2019.
Itineraries for family-friendly Voyager, including Barcelona and Southern France, go on sale on November 4, 2021.
