The new AIDA Cruises' ship, AIDAcosma, successfully completed her first voyage on the river Ems.
On Saturday, October 23, at around 6:00 p.m., the vessel reached Eemshaven.
At around 1:00 o’clock in the night, the newbuild said goodbye to Papenburg (Germany) with typhoon greetings. A pair of tugs pulled AIDAcosma backward through the dock lock of Meyer Werft. The liner then passed through Weener Friesenbrücke and Jann Berghaus bridges without problems.
This was the 9th Ems passage of an AIDA Cruises' ship since 2007. In Eemshaven, the next step is technical-nautical trials and outfitting of the ship.
AIDA's 2nd newbuild is entirely LNG-powered and has 20 decks (17 passenger-accessible) and 2600 staterooms. In addition to the features familiar from AIDAnova (Theatrium with a 360-degree stage, Beach Club, TV Studio, Body & Soul Organic Spa) passengers can expect other highlights like the Fun Park (with a dual waterslide and Water Slide), the Bouldering Wall, spacious pool deck (at the stern) extending across the boat's entire width. Culinarily the vacationers are tempted with 17 restaurants and 23 bars.
