Boston-based cruise company Vantage Deluxe World Travel officially christened MS Ocean Explorer, the brand's first ocean-going small ship, on Monday (October 25) at Flynn Cruiseport Boston’s Black Falcon Cruise Terminal.
The 5-star vessel, which offers the latest in navigation and satellite technology, can accommodate up to 162 passengers and offers 15 itineraries, 4 of which depart from Boston (Massachusetts USA).
The ship’s 4 itineraries that depart from Boston include:
- Autumn in New England & Canada from Montreal (Quebec Canada) to Boston MA
- Charting the Eastern Seaboard: Colonial America & Cultural Capitals from Boston MA to Nassau (Bahamas)

Ocean Explorer includes gourmet dining, a library, a gift shop, a pool, a fitness center, and a spa with massage & hair services, a sauna, and 2 hot tubs.
Ocean Explorer is the third in a series of ten "Ulstein CX103" design (Infinity-Class) China-built expedition vessels, with sisterships Greg Mortimer (2019-Aug), Ocean Victory (2021-March), Sylvia Earle (2021-Sept), Ocean Odyssey (2022-Feb), Ocean Discoverer (2023-March), Ocean Albatros (2022-Oct) plus 4 more (TBN) units. The patented ULSTEIN X-BOW design is one of the unusual for expedition ships features, The vessel also utilizes the latest technologies in naval engineering. The ship is technically managed by Cruise Management International (Miami-based passenger vessel/fleet management company). CMI Leisure Miami handles hotel operations.
