WCT (Worldwide Cruise Terminals), manager and operator of Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, today welcomed its 800th cruise ship call since the terminal's inauguration in June 2013.
The vessel calling on the momentous occasion was MS Genting Dream, which was the first vessel to restart passenger operations in Hong Kong on July 30, after an extended suspension of cruising.
Jeff Bent (WCT's Managing Director) said they were delighted to celebrate the milestone with Genting Dream, "one of the most frequently visiting cruise ships at the Kai Tak Terminal." Per general estimates of the economic benefits, the ship call marked the point at which the terminal achieved ‘payback’ on its initial investment.
According to Kent Zhu (Genting Cruise Lines's President), “Genting Cruise Lines would like to congratulate Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on reaching its 800th passenger ship call with Genting Dream."
"Hong Kong is a premier destination for the cruise industry because of state-of-the-facilities such as the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and continues to play an important role for Genting Cruise Lines as both our home and headquarters.”
