The 2 fast-ferry companies operating between Valleta (Malta Island) and Mgarr Harbour (Gozo Island) announced that the service is being canceled for Monday, November 29.
In separate Facebook posts, Virtu Ferries Gozo and Gozo Fast Ferry announced that the crossings scheduled for Monday are canceled due to bad weather. Gozo Fast Ferry said the operations had been suspended until further notice.
According to the meteorologists, the weather was expected to be "very windy with isolated rain showers increasing later and becoming possibly thundery and/or with small hail at times." The wind was predicted to be West South West Force 7 veering West North West and increasing to Force 9.
Meteorologists at the MET Office within Malta International Airport have issued no warnings so far.
On Thursday, November 25, a storm battered both islands causing widespread damages.
TVM published footage that showed ducks swimming on a flooded road in Marsaskala and people being forced to climb on tables in Marsaxlokk. The same footage showed restaurant signs, rubbish bins, and potted plants.
