Monday morning, December 13, 2021, AIDAnova arrived at the port of Hamburg (Germany) for the first time.
Upon arrival, the crew sent a message of light “We ❤ HH” to all the people of Hamburg along the Elbe River.
Since her arrival in the Hanseatic city, final preparations have been made aboard the AIDAnova ship for the welcome of the first passengers and the start of the first voyage on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
The liner will then already be the 10th AIDA Cruises' ship to be launched again in 2021. The first cruise ship in the world to be powered 100% by LNG (low emission liquefied natural gas) was awarded the German government’s Blue Angel a couple of years ago for her environmentally friendly design.
For the upcoming Christmas cruises, AIDAnova has been transformed with oversized Christmas light installations and festive fir trees. The first of 2 Advent voyages leads from/to Hamburg (Germany) from 14 to 19 December 2021 to Oslo and Kristiansand.
On both premiere cruises, AIDA gourmet godmother Andrea Schirmaier-Huber will be onboard, among others. Passengers will have the chance to create Christmas chocolates and biscuits together with the well-known TV chef. AIDA Show Ensemble will also return onboard AIDAnova just in time for the festive season to provide magical moments in the Theatrium.
The successful formats like “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” return to the stages. A participatory event is the “Upgrade Show”, where passengers from 2 inside cabins play with packed suitcases for an upgrade to a balcony cabin while the voyage is in progress.
The festive program is offered on the cruise from December 22, 2021, to January 8, 2022, from Hamburg to Gran Canaria. Vacationers experience the turn of the year in Funchal (Madeira Island, Portugal). One of the world's most spectacular fireworks displays is held there every year. The voyages can be booked in a shorter version from/to Lisbon (Portugal).
From January through April 2022, AIDAnova will sail to the islands in the Spanish archipelago: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Arrecife (Lanzarote), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
