P&O Cruises introduced its first multi-sensory escape room, “Mission Control”, which is new and exclusive to Arvia.
The new experience is set underwater onboard the fictional submarine Arvia 2, with a series of live-action mind-stimulating puzzles.
Fictional Dr. Ryan leads the “expedition” which has multiple storylines for all ages, with a film-like plot of twists including motion simulation.
According to P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow, holidays were all about new experiences and the immersive escape room would create "unforgettable action-packed moments with family and friends."
“Mission Control will expand our on board entertainment offering even further, giving guests an opportunity to create unique bonding experiences they will talk about for years to come.”
An example cruise is Arvia's maiden 14-night Canary Islands voyage (K203) with fares from GBP 1,450 per person for an inside cabin.
Departing December 9, 2022, the price includes full board meals, entertainment, and kids’ clubs. Departing from and returning to Southampton (England UK) ports of call include Madeira (Funchal, Portugal), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), Arrecife (Lanzarote, Canary Islands), Cadiz (Spain, Sevilla), Lisbon (Portugal).
The 2022-built MS Arvia cruise ship is the P&O UK fleet's second Excellence-class vessel, with sistership Iona. Arvia is currently under construction (at Meyer Werft in Papenburg Germany) and scheduled for delivery and inauguration in December 2022. P&O Arvia and Iona are currently the newest and largest passenger liners designed and built for the UK source market.
P&O Arvia and Iona ships are from the Carnival Corporation's Excellence Class (aka "Helios" and "Carnival XL"). The vessel design was developed in collaboration with renowned maritime companies and interior design firms, including Meyer Werft (German shipbuilder), Jestico+Whiles (London-based hospitality design studio), Richmond International (London-based hotel architecture), Partner Ship Design (Hamburg-based maritime architecture specialist with several Carnival Corporation projects - including AIDA, Costa, P&O, CCL-Carnival).
