Despite the record number of COVID infections in Hawaii last week and the stern warning by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) against cruising, the state welcomes back its first cruise ship in ~2 years with Sunday’s arrival of Grand Princess in Hilo.
The ship is on a 15-day roundtrip from Los Angeles, California USA, which started on January 4, and is expected to end on January 19. Call ports include Hilo (Jan 9), Honolulu, Oahu Island (Jan 10), Nawiliwili, Lihue, Kauai Island (Jan 11), Kahului, Maui Island (Jan 12), Ensenada, Baja California Mexico (Jan 18).
NCL-Norwegian’s Pride of America ship was scheduled to restart interisland sailings on January 22, but all departures through February 26 have been canceled.
