The De Wave Group revealed it had been selected as the major contractor for the outfitting of Scenic Cruises’ newest boat Scenic Eclipse 2, currently under construction (by Scenic Group's MMK Yacht Division) in Rijeka Croatia.
The cruise ship follows the path trailblazed by sistership Scenic Eclipse, to which De Wave contributed, that set new standards in the ultra-luxury ocean cruising.
The De Wave Group will create some of the most advanced technical installations and prestigious luxury areas onboard: 114 six-star guest suites, guest suite area corridors, guest suite wet rooms, dining venues and provision plants (including kitchens & cold rooms), crew cabins, crew corridors, and crew areas.
The staterooms (ranging 46-50 m2 / 495-538 ft2 in size) feature double hydromassage baths (by Philippe Starck), ultra-luxury accessories, color therapy vitalizing mist showers, and the highest levels of sound insulation found on any cruise ship according to Bureau Veritas ship classification society.
As the 2nd “Discovery Yacht” of Scenic, the Eclipse 2 is expected to provide a superlative cruise experience. Accommodating up to 228 passengers in 114 six-star suites, she will take them to explore many of the world's most memorable lesser-visited sites, from the glaciers of Greenland to the Norwegian fjords and Iceland. The experience offered is equally exclusive, guided by Scenic's expert Discovery Team "to explore along, below and above the horizon by zodiac, submarine and helicopter."
The steel cutting for Scenic Eclipse 2 was held on April 24, 2020, and the De Wave order for 810 m2 (8719 ft2) of suites, cabins and corridors, along with 763 m2 (8213 ft2) of dining and catering areas, is due for delivery in 2023.
