January 31, 2022, marked the 6-month anniversary of CCL-Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras ship, which welcomed her first passengers from Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida) on July 31, last year.
The first of Carnival’s Excel class ships, Mardi Gras has been fascinating passengers on each voyage since July, welcoming 110,000+ passengers to date.
To celebrate the 6-month mark, and looking ahead to the arrival of her 2 sisterships, Celebration and Jubilee, Carnival released a video after talking with passengers about why they love the newbuild.
Mardi Gras is the Americas' first LNG-powered liner (liquefied natural gas), as well as the first cruise ship with a roller coaster (BOLT). So far, travelers have enjoyed 30,000+ invigorating BOLT rides.
Mardi Gras includes delicious dining options with a number of new venues onboard, like Shaq’s Big Chicken, Emeril’s Bistro 1396, Chibang! and Street Eats.
~1 million passengers have taken a journey with Carnival Cruise Line since the restart of the industry on 400+ sailings.
This fall, Carnival Celebration is due to arrive at homeport Miami (Florida USA). Carnival’s next Excel-class cruise ship will share all the fun passengers are enjoying on Mardi Gras, such as BOLT, plus exclusive features as well.
A 3rd Excel-class ship, Carnival Jubilee, will commence operations from her homeport in Galveston (Texas USA) in the fall of 2023. Jubilee opened for sale last week.
