Angra do Heroísmo is a port city on Terceira Island in Portugal's Autonomous Region of the Azores Islands, with population around 35,000.

Angra Port (locode PTADH) is on the island's central-southern coast. Terceira's other cruise port is Praia da Vitoria (on the eastern coast).

The Azores' executive/administrative capital, the biggest municipality (population around 70,000), principal seaport and primary cruise port is Ponta Delgada (on Sao Miguel Island) while the legislative capital is Horta (on Faial Island).

Angra Terceira is visited mainly by smaller-sized luxury ships and superyachts. In 2025, the Port's schedule listed the ships NatGeo Endurance (Lindblad Expeditions/in April) and MS Europa 2 (Hapag-Lloyd/in October).

Angra was founded in the mid-15th century (1478) as the Azores' most important city housing the Bishop of the Azores, and government entities. Port Angra was the most important in the 15th century, serving the Transatlantic shipping trade between mainland Portugal and the East Indies.

Angra's downtown is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983, following four years of repairs and rebuilding after a major earthquake hit on January 1st, 1980, causing considerable damage to Angra and other areas on Terceira.
