Batina is a Danube River cruise port and small village in Croatia's Baranja region (Osijek-Baranja county, eastern Slavonia) with a population of around 1,000. The village is on road D212 connecting to Osijek. A road bridge over the Danube was built. in 1974 as a Croatia-Serbia border crossing point (linking to Bezdan).
As a tourist destination, the village is famous for The Batina Operation (November 11-29, 1944) - one of the bloodiest (and biggest by the intensity of fighting and strategic importance) battles in Yugoslavia during WW2 (1939-1945). Baranya/Baranja is a historical region between two rivers (Danube and Drava) divided between Croatia and Hungary.
As cruise port, Batina was added in the nickoVISION ship's 2019 schedule from homeport Passau. The next table shows the 14-day itinerary's ports and port times (arrival/departure). Prices started from USD 1240 pp (double occupancy rates). The new riverboat was inaugurated in 2018.
