The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Bodo. Other villages in Bodo include Fenes, Kjerringoy, Misvaer, Loding, Lopsmarka, Skjerstad, Saltstraumen, Sorvaer.
Located north of the Arctic Circle, this is the biggest city and urban area in Nordland county, and the 2nd-largest in North Norway. Salten Museum and Norwegian Aviation Museum are both located here.
