Bucharest is a river ship travel destination on Danube River cruise tours in Europe. These European travel deals are inclusive of bus travel between Bucharest and Giurgiu (port on Danube River). Most operated are the Danube cruises from Budapest and Bucharest and the reverse from Bucharest to Budapest. The longest itineraries are from Holland to Black Sea (Amsterdam to Bucharest), and the reverse. They include cruising on the rivers Danube, Main and Rhine.

Bucharest is Romania's capital and biggest city, as well as the country's industrial and financial center. Located in southeast Romania, it lies on the banks of Dambovita River - less than 60 km (37 mi) north of Danube River. Bucharest became capital in 1862. Its population is around 2 million, ranking it the 6th largest city in the European Union - after London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Paris.

Next photo shows Bucharest's parliament palace - the world's 2nd-largest administrative building after the Pentagon building in Arlington County (Virginia, USA). The palace has 12 floors, with a total floor area of 365000 m2 (0,14 mi2).

On cruise shore excursions (bus tours from Bucharest) can be visited the Transylvania's cities Sibiu, Sighisoara, Brasov, also Muntenia's Snagov.
