Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort (Baja California Mexico)

Cabo Pulmo is a Beach Resort/Dive Resort-type village in Mexico's Baja California State popular as the cruise port/getaway to Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo (National Park). The marine park is along the Baja California Peninsula's southern coast (Gulf of California) and spans the distance between Cabo Pulmo and Playa Los Frailes (Cape) located approx 100 km (60 mi) north of Cabo San Lucas. The Park covers a total area of 71 km2 (27,5 mi2).

Bahia Pulmo is a popular diving and snorkeling destination for having the oldest of North America's only three coral reefs. The Pulmo Coral Reef is also the northernmost in the eastern Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez's only living coral reef. Cabo Pulmo was declared a Parque Nacional in 1995, and also is designated a UNESCO Site (2005) and a Ramsar Site (2008, for its wetlands / distinct ecosystems flooded by seawater).

The 1987-established Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort has resident population around 100. Here tourists are provided with an easygoing, casual-style vacation experience marked by open-floor-design bungalows and rustic casitas (small wooden cabins/houses) fitted with modern amenities. Most accommodations are with kitchens (some with outdoor BBQs) and powered by solar panels. The village also has a Restaurant (open for lunch and dinner) and a Dive Center that is the Marine Park's only PADI 5 Star-certified diving facility, with a full range of scuba diving and snorkeling courses (various packages) and day-tours guided by full-time instructors.

Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort benefits from its close proximity to two airports - Cabo San Lucas, and Los Cabos.

The smaller Cabo San Lucas Airport serves mainly charter flights and domestic flights (by Calafia Airlines) linking to the Mexican states Sonora (Ciudad Obregon, Hermosillo), Sinaloa (Culiacan, Guasave, Los Mochis, Mazatlan), and Baja California Sur (La Paz).

The larger Los Cabos Airport has two terminals - Terminal 1 (serving domestic flights) and Terminal 2 (international flights, both seasonal and regular). Domestic flights link to Mexico City, Guadalajara, Culiacan, Los Mochis, Loreto, Tijuana, Hermosillo, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta. Regularly-scheduled international flights link to the USA's California (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento), Oregon (Portland), Washington (Seattle), Texas (Austin, Dallas, Houston), Arizona (Phoenix), Georgia (Atlanta), Utah (Salt Lake City), Nevada (Las Vegas), Colorado (Denver), New York (NYC-JFK), as well as to Canada's Alberta (Calgary) and British Columbia (Vancouver).

As cruise port, Cabo Pulmo was included for the first time in the winter 2021-2022 schedule of the Lindblad Expeditions' ship National Geographic Venture (2018-built). The 7-night/8-day Baja California itinerary was operated one-way between homeports Loreto and Guaymas.
