Cruise Port schedule, live map, terminals, news
Chiswell Islands are an Alaskan archipelago located in Gulf of Alaska (within Kenai Peninsula Borough). The island group consists of uninhabited islands accessible only by ship (boat) or airplane.
Chiswell Islands are approx 35 ml (56 km) to the south of Seward AK and are part of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge (aka Alaska Maritime / abbrev AMNWR). The whole land area is an important bird sanctuary and is very active seismically.
The landscape is rocky and rugged. Coastal areas are carved by rough seas. The marine life is represented by starfish, barnacles, millions of nesting sea birds (among which horned and tufted puffins, black-legged kittiwakes, various auklets /incuding Cassin's and whiskered). Here can also be seen the endangered species Steller sea lion (aka northern sea lion).
