Cordova AK is a port town in the Chugach Census Area (Alaska USA) with population around 2,500. The port is located near Copper River's mouth, at the head of Orca Inlet (Prince William Sound's east side). Cordova has no railway and road connections, so the only modes of transport are air (two airports) and water (ferries, cruise ships, charter boats).

Passengers and wheeled cargo (cars and trucks) are ferried to and from Cordova, with regularly scheduled service provided by Alaska Marine Highway (Ketchikan-based, state-owned company). Ferries link Cordova with Valdez and Whittier, with optional stops (prior reservations are required) in Tatitlek and Chenega Bay. The Prince William Sound service is year-round, the high-speed ferry service is summer-only.

The town is served by two state-owned airports - Mudhole Smith (approx 11 mi / 18 km east of downtown) and Cordova Municipal Airport (1 mi / 2 km from downtown). Both facilities have floatplane landings. Mudhole Smith is the larger and with regularly scheduled jet service by Alaska Airlines. Municipal Airport is used largely by air taxis and private aircraft.

As cruise port, Cordova AK is included in the schedule of the Alaska-based small-ship cruising company UnCruise Adventures. The summer program of the Safari Quest boat includes the 7-night "Prince William Sound Wild Glacier Adventure Cruise". The itinerary (roundtrip from Whittier) is priced from ~USD 8000 per person (double-occupancy cabin rates, inclusive of bus travel from/to Anchorage AK).

The settlement was established by the Spaniards in 1790 under the name Puerto Cordova. The town's current-day economy is based on commercial fishing (mainly Pacific salmon) and fish processing (fisheries, canning). Tourism is largely based on charter-boat fishing and touring and popular annual events, the largest of which are Cordova Iceworm Festival (February), Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival (May) and Copper River Wild Salmon Festival (July). Cordova Historical Museum is themed on Copper River and Northwestern Railway (CR&NW), Alaska Natives (history and contemporary life), Copper River and Prince William Sound's commercial fishing industry.
