Decín is an Elbe River cruise port and city in Czech Republic (central-north location), with population around 50,000. Among the main tourist attractions is the Decín Castle - built on a hill (near the cruise ship docking area) and overlooking the river.
The city incorporates two towns (on each side of the river) - Old Town (on Elbe's right bank) and Podmokly (aka Bodenbach, on the left bank). Elbe Valley railway (connecting Prague with Dresden) runs nearby. Train travel time from Decin to Prague (country's capital) is approx 1,5 hours. A highway runs along the river and across the German border to Bad Schandau. City's economy is based on sheet-metal production, food, textiles, chemicals, soap, beer, printing and publishing industries.
As cruise port, Decin is included in the regular schedule of world's largest river cruise company - Viking. Next table shows company's 5-day itinerary between homeports Decin and Lutherstadt Wittenberg.
