Djupivogur is a port town located on a peninsula in Austurland, eastern Iceland. It is on Berufjordur Fjord and close to Papey Island. This small town has population under 500.

The municipality of Djupivogur was formed as a result of the merger of rural communities Buland, Geithellur and Berunes on October 1, 1992. Currently, the coastline consists of 3 fjords: Berufjordur, Hamarsfjordur, and Alftafjordur. The town of Djupivogur is located on a peninsula between Berufjordur and Hamarsfjordur.

Approx 900 m (2950 ft) west of Djupivogur is a work of art named "Eggin í Gledivík" ("The Eggs of Merry Bay") by Sigurdur Gudmundsson. It was installed in the summer of 2009 and is actually a replica of the eggs of 34 nesting birds in the region.

Approx 5 km (3 mi) west of Djupivogur lies Teigarhorn, which is a farm on the shores of Berufjordur, where weather observation has been commenced since 1874. It's among the oldest weather stations in Iceland and holds the record for the country's highest temperature ever recorded, 31 C (87 F) on June 22, 1939. It's also claimed Teigarhorn reached 36 C (97 F) in September 1940 but is not recognized by the Icelandic Meteorological Office. Iceland rarely has temperatures above 30 C (86 F). It has occurred only five times since weather observations were commenced in the 19th century.

From aa are also offered bus tours to Vatnajokull National Park (one of Iceland's three NPs/2008-established, World Heritage Site since 2019) which encompasses the entire Vatnajokull Glacier.

By the early 19th century, Djupivogur was just 'a tiny port with a Danish colonial trading base'. Hans Jonatan (1784–1827), who had been a slave in Copenhagen, could escape there and became one of first people of colour in Iceland.
