Eskifjordur is a port town located in eastern Iceland, It has well developed fishing industry and population around 1000,

Eskifjordur joined Neskaupstaður and Reydarfjordur in 1998 to form new municipality, Fjaroabyggð (meaning "fjords-settlement"). The other villages that compose the municipality include: Faskrudsfjordur (660 inhabitants), Mjoifjordur (35 inhabitants), Neskaupstadur (1,440 inhabitants), Reydarfjorður (1,100 inhabitants) and Stodvarfjordur (200 inhabitants).

The town has one of the finest rare stone collections in Iceland, featuring thousands of cut, polished and original stones from all over the isle, privately owned but visitable.
