Harnosand is a port town in Sweden's Vasternorrland County, with population around 25,000. The town is popular for being Sweden's first town with electric street lighting (since December 10, 1885).

Harnosand Hamn/Harbor (port locode SEHND) is a deepwater harbor with modern facilities and able to handle various cargo ships carrying general-, bulk- and project cargoes (including forest products/pellets and wind power equipment) and oil tankers.

The Port also receives calls from cruise ships and ro-ro/ro-pax vessels (wheeled cargo and passenger ferries).

The Quay's length is 300 m/984 ft.

The oil pier has max draft 10 m (34 ft) and also handles ships carrying asphalt and sulfuric acid.

The Port's max vessel draft is 7,5 m/25 ft.

The Port has its own railway (max cargo capacity 22,5 tons) and is directly linked to Sweden's main railway and road systems including European Road E4 (length 1590 km/990 mi, linking Tornio Finland with Helsingborg Sweden).

Port Harnosand is one of Sweden's principal seaports for project cargo and logistics, having large capacity warehouses (indoor and outdoor storage/~8500 m2) and mobile cranes (Heavy Lifting Crawler Cranes with max lifting capacity 300 tons).

Since 2022, the Port is owned by Kuljetusliike Ville Silvasti Oy (2008-founded, Jyvaskyla Finland-based company) specializing in logistics and transportation services, including wind power and logistics.

In August 2023 was established Birka Gotland Cruises - a joint venture between the passenger shipping companies VIKING LINE and Gotlandsbolaget/Destination Gotland. The new company operates a single ship (Birka Gotland/fka Birka Stockholm) and starting May 2024 serves the Sweden-Finland route Stockholm-Mariehamn Aland-Visby. In peak summer, the itineraries expand to include popular vacation destinations in Sweden (Harnosand, Ystad), Denmark (Bornholm) and Latvia (Riga).

Port Harnosand also receives regularly scheduled visits from VIKING LINE's ferry Cinderella.

Among the cruise lines visiting Harnosand are Hapag-Lloyd (ship Hanseatic Nature) and Phoenix Reisen (ship Deutschland).
