Ilok is a Danube River cruise port located in Slavonia, northeastern Croatia. The town has population around 5,000.

  • The town is in the Syrmia region and lies on a hill overlooking the river. Here is als the country's border with Serbia (Vojvodina region). Among the town's main tourist attractions are the Franciscan monastery and Ilok Castle.
  • On October 17, 1991 during the beginning of Croatian War of Independence, all non-Serbs fled as Yugoslav National Army occupied the whole area, but spared it from destruction because of its rapid occupation. Between 1991-1995, Ilok was part of Republic of Serb Krajina. In 1998 the area was reintegrated into Croatia, with the exception of Vukovar and Sarengrad islands, which are part of Serbia.
