Ischia Island is located in Tyrrhenian Sea (central Mediterranean Sea). It is also in the Gulf of Naples' northern part, approx about 30 km (19 ml) to the southwest of Naples. Ischia is the largest of Phlegrean Islands, with a total area of approx 46 km2 (18 ml2) and coastline approx 34 km (21 ml) in length. With population around 60,000, the island's population density is over 1300 people per km2.
