Itea, located in the Gulf of Corinth, is the cruise port from which you travellers visit Delphi and Osiou Louka monastery close to Distomo. Docking at the pier near the centre of town, a 20-min ride (bus or taxi) takes tourists to Delphi.

The Monastery of St Luke Stiris (Moni Osiou Louka) is further and also in idyllic setting with superb views - its main church features some of the finest Byzantine frescoes found in Greece and interiors of mosaics, marble and icons. During the European Middle Ages, the ancient Chaleion, Itea, supplanted the 6th century BC port of Kírra (Cyrrha), situated just southeast of Itea.
