Kalocsa is a Danube River cruise port and town in southern Hungary, located approx 142 km (88 mi) south of the country's capital city Budapest. The town has population around 16,000.

Cruise tourists visit Kalocsa directly from either Hamn Kalocsa/Port (locode HUKCO, on Danube, approx 7 km / 4 mi to the west), or from Baja City (approx 45 km / 27 mi to the south via Route 51). From Baja, passengers are bused to Kalocsa, and later the same day re-embark the riverboat in Port Kalocsa.

This is one of Hungary's oldest towns, established in 1000 AD. In 1875, large part of the town was destroyed by fire.

Here is the Archdiocese of one of Hungary's all four Catholic archbishops (the other being Esztergom, Budapest, Pecs). Amongst its buildings are the archiepiscopal palace, cathedral, astronomical observatory, priest seminary, colleges for teachers. Local economy is based on agriculture (predominately fruits, flax, paprika, cereals, hemp) and fishing.
