Killarney is a Great Lakes/Lake Huron cruise port (on Baie Georgienne/Georgian Bay's northern shore) and a small town in Canada's Ontario province (Sudbury District) with population under 500. Killarney can be accessed by road (Highway 637), small aircraft (Killarney Airport) and also by boat (mainly from Little Current (on Manitoulin Island).
The settlement was founded in the early-19th century as a French fur trading outpost. In 1949-1961, the site was operated as a fishing camp by the Detroit-based Fruehauf Trailer Company (aka Fruehauf Corporation/1918-1989, truck trailers manufacturer). The company's clients and guests were flown to Killarney via sea planes for vacationing during the summer.
As cruise port, Killarney was first included in the 2021 schedule of Hapag Lloyd Cruises with the ship Hanseatic Inspiration (2019-built). Next table shows the 14-day itinerary from Chicago to Toronto.
