Laerdalsoyri is a port and village in Norway's Vestland county (Laerdal Municipality) with population around 1,200. It is located at Laerdalselvi River's mouth (where the river flows into the fjord Laerdalsfjorden/branch of Sognefjorden). Laerdal Tunnel (on E16 highway between Oslo and Bergen) is approx 4 km (2,5 mi) to the north.

Laerdalsoyri is a unique travel destination for tourists interested in authentic Norwegian wooden architecture (from the 18th-century) represented by 161 buildings in the Old Town. Laerdalsoyri developed as a trading port, with a convenient location near Sognefjorden's head. Sognefjord/Sogn Fjord is one of Norway's longest fjord systems (length 205 km / 127 mi) with max width 4,5 km (2,8 mi) and max depth 1308 m (4291 ft) which allows large ships (cruise and cargo) to safely navigate in the area.
