Lunga Island is the largest of Treshnish Isles in Argyll and Bute (western Scotland). The island has total area approx 1 km2 (0,3 ml2) and is uninhabitted.
- Lunga Island is of volcanic origin. It was populated until the 19th century. The remains of the ruined village (abandoned in 1857) are in the northeast part.
- The island has abundant plant life. Plenty of endangered and rare plants are native to the isle, including birdsfoot trefoil, orchids, oyster plant, primrose, sea campion, sea pinks, sea thrift, tormentil, yellow flags.
- Grey seals live in the surrounding waters. Birdlife includes kittiwakes, Manx shearwaters, storm-petrels. Puffins, razorbills and guillemots breed on the island. In the winter arrive Barnacle geese.
- In the summer, tour boats from Ulva Ferry (Isle of Mull) visit Lunga. The main tourist attraction are the thousands of breeding puffins allowing travellers to approach to within several feet of them.
