Macleod Island (Burma) is a private island famous for the "Myanmar Andaman Resort". The island is located in the Mergui Archipelago. The private island resort is one of only 2 such resorts among the archipelago's over 800 islands, most of which are uninhabited.

Macleod Island is located approx 75 km (46 mi) from Kawthaung (Burma) and Ranong (Thailand). The island has 3 soft white-sand beaches surrounded by tropical wilderness. The island's highest elevation point is nearly 200 m (655 ft) above sea level.

Myanmar Andaman Resort

The private island resort has 3 beaches and features proximity to pristine dive sites. Each accommodation is located within easy walking distance (less than 1 min walk) from the beach.

The resort has a total of 22 beach bungalows, each facing the bay and the surrounding beaches. Here guests have the unique chance to communicate with native tribes and to enjoy the tropical mangrove forests and wildlife. Among the most popular outdoor amenities and activities are a restaurant, bar, diving (PADI certified center), snorkeling, short trekking, day-long hiking, and hopping tours, sea kayaking, bay swimming, Mini Spa (traditional massages), beach chairs and umbrellas.

As accommodations, the resort has 14 Superior Cottages (sized 26 m2 / 280 ft2) plus 8 Suites (sized 40 m2 / 430 ft2). All rooms are air-conditioned, with ceiling fans and mosquito nets, en-suite bathroom (WC, \hot and cold shower, hairdryer), complimentary bottled water. Also provided (at a fee) is laundry service. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at the resort's lobby and in the restaurant. The restaurant's menu always has freshest seafood (lobster, squid, crabs) and fruits.

Genting Cruises Private Island Port

In early November 2017, GHK (Genting Hong Kong corporation) signed an agreement with the Macleod Island's owner "Tint Tint Myanmar Group" (headquartered in Yangon Burma) to jointly built new cruise ship facilities on the island.

Cruise line private Islands are among the best-known assets of the world's largest cruise shipping companies (Carnival Corporation, RCCL Royal Caribbean, NCL, MSC). However, most such private island resorts are located in the Caribbean.

GHK's partnering with Tint Tint Myanmar Group makes Macleod Island the first Asian private cruise resort destination. It is opened exclusively for Genting tourists visiting the island via the GHK-owned Genting Cruise Lines ships (from the fleets of Dream Cruises and Star Cruises). Among GHK's other Asian projects are Guangzhou Nansha Port development (in China) and Port Danang (in Vietnam).

Macleod Island was first visited by Star Cruises ship (SuperStar Libra) on November 3, 2017. The 5-night / 6-day itinerary also included Penang (Malaysia) and Phuket (Thailand).
