Mantua is a Po River cruise port and town in Italy's Lombardia/Lombardy region, as well las the Mantua Province's capital city, with population around 50,000. The town is surrounded by artificial (12th-century) lakes created for defense purposes. The lakes (lago) are filled by Mincio River (Po River tributary) which flows from Lake Garda and empties into the Adriatic Sea.
Mantova is linked via two highways - A4 (Milan-Venice) and A22 (Brennero-Modena) and two railways (Milan-Codogno-Cremona-Mantua, Verona-Mantua-Modena, and Rome-Mantova). The closest international airport is in Verona (Villafranca Airport).
As cruise port, Mantua is included in the regular schedule of one of Europe's largest river cruise companies - CroisiEurope.
